"There's Got to Be a Morning After..."

Whew.

For those astrologers who are familiar with The Poseidon Adventure (the 1972 film)...

Feeling a Bit Overturned by a Tsunami (Caused by an Underwater Earthquake)?

I don't know about you, but after the past 24 hours' transits-to-transits...

... (i.e., the Moon in Aries joining Uranus there, ergo squaring off with Pluto in Cap and opposing the Sun in Libra (i.e., the Full Moon, etc.)

... on top of longer-term recently-ended / ongoing transits-to-transits (perhaps most notably Uranus in Aries squaring off with Pluto in Cap, off and on, exact seven times between earlier this year and 2015)....

... I feel like I've been through my own (granted, much lesser) Poseidon adventure...

I look forward to the sun rising (and actually shining here in central NC, US, Earth) after yesterday's rain and cloudiness literally and figuratively.

Disclaimer

OK, so I'm being a wee bee dramatic here (and feel free to touch based with my natal Moon in Leo about that... You can find him in my natal 4th house)...

but even so...

Care to join me as I sing a round?

Let's go!

"There's got to be a morning after..."   :-)

Happy Full Moon Saturday!

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW

For those on Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-5) or in some zone west of Eastern Time, you get a Full Moon at 11:19 pm tonight (ET).

WHAT YOU CAN ANTICIPATE

Between this past Tues. (Sept. 27) and next Wed. (Oct. 3), odds are good that you experience some sort of TUG-OF-WAR (at least INITIALLY) between two forces or principles…

(1) COURAGE

AND

(2) HARMONY

…. in some sense or senses of those two words…

… playing out or cropping up in one or more parts of your life.

This tug-of-war started (or at least has significantly increased) over the past two weeks or so, and it reaches a peak or "boiling point" sometime during the aforementioned “Full Moon period.”

(It’s likelier to peak by today’s Full Moon, but it could peak sometime in the four days or so after it.)

HERE’S MY ADVICE TO YOU

Aim to balance (at least), if not also to integrate "courage" and "harmony" somehow, whether you do it…

(A) within yourself (between two "voices in your head"),

(B) between you and some other individual person and/ or

(C) between you and some other external force, or situation, or entity (such as an organization, the economy, etc.)

Whichever of those types play(s) out in YOUR life between mid-Sept. and early Oct., the two elements in question PULL IN OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS. But that's what happens INITIALLY.

With time, effort, patience, and maturity … and with a modicum of both civility AND daring, it’s possible to get to a better place.

TWO APPROACHES: AIMING FOR BALANCE AND AIMING FOR INTEGRATION

To get there, aim to get beyond an "either-or approach" to whichever issue(s) the tug-of-war center(s) on. Push for some sort of "higher-path" break in the "logjam."

For example, you might aim to have one half of the tug-of-war act in a way that BALANCES (or COMPLEMENTS) the way that the other half acts.

If you do this, then it’s like two halves of a romantic couple (made up of  Partner #1 and Partner #2, say) who agree that P #1 will do X while P #2 will do Y in the same situation Z.

In effect, P #1 and P #2 act in such a way that both bases (that is, both “X kinds of stuff” AND “Y kinds of stuff”) get covered in that same situation, and BOTH parties WIN in the end.

That's ONE approach during such a Full Moon period.

ANOTHER APPROACH is to aim to go even farther in a sense--that is, to aim to INTEGRATE…

(A) P #1's approach (what one might eventually consider the particular “gift” that he or she contributes) to the situation

with

(B) (B) P #2’s approach (and possible gift).

HERE’S ONE--OF INNUMERABLE—POSSIBLE EXAMPLES OF HOW TO TAKE SUCH AN APPROACH

For example, if partner #1 and partner #2 have been arguing over whether to …

(A) be diplomatic and encourage harmony

OR

(B) be direct and assertive

… while interacting with the local neighbors / the local neighborhood association, then P #1 and P #2 might aim to take an approach that is both diplomatic AND direct, an approach that encourages harmony AND is assertive.

Specifically, one partner of the couple might say the following to a neighbor (or to the representative of the neighborhood association)…

“Betsy Lou and I simply insist  ; -)  that you come over for coffee and dessert tonight…  We’d like to thank you for showing how much YOU care lately about what happens in our neighborhood and how it gets done… We’d also like to tell you about something that’s been concerning us both … and then maybe we can all put our heads together… put on our thinking caps … and then see where we might go from there, working together for the good of our neighborhood… After all, I think that it’s fair to say that we all want to live in what we think of as a great neighborhood…. How does 7 pm sound? … Lovely! … We’ll see you then.  :-) ….”

LIFE’S LIKE A MOVIE; WRITE YOUR OWN ENDING

I believe that how happy / unhappy an ending YOU’LLL get by the time that the final curtain falls on YOUR PARTICULAR Full-Moon-related drama(s) (meaning, sometime between today and next Wed.) …

… depends largely (though not necessarily solely) on THE CHOICES THAT YOU MAKE.

No particular ending of this story is guaranteed, and YOU have a lot of “script-writing power” in your hands.

For example…

You can shrink in fear, or try to force your will on someone or something else … or you can act indecisively or manipulatively toward someone or something … or you can even go back and forth between two such approaches.

You can throw a temper tantrum or two… or you can act authoritarian and condescending… or swing between two such approaches.

You can also muster the bravery that it takes to face some important, necessary challenge (inside yourself, or between you and someone or something else) in spite of whatever fear you might be feeling.

You can strive for a true peace, one that’s “negotiated” either formally and explicitly or informally and tacitly. The choice is yours.

To quote the song “Rainbow Connection” as included at the end of “The Muppet Movie” (1979)…

“Life's like a movie, write your own ending
Keep believing, keep pretending
We've done just what we set out to do.
Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers, and you.”

GET THE SCOOP ON SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS TO *YOUR LIFE*

The example that I shared above is ONE of INNUMERABLE possible examples.

Some examples are much more likely for some of us than for others.

Which ones are more likely for YOU depend on the astrology that pertains to YOUR PARTICULAR month, day, year, time, and place (i.e., latitude-longitude combination).

To get the scoop on how such relatively short-term temporary “astrological weather patterns” apply specifically to YOUR LIFE … or to find out how longer-term patterns (such as those that last for months or years each) apply to your life, consult your favorite local (or virtual) astrologer.

For instance, you can go to

and order a predictive reading (i.e., an Transits & Progressions reading, a.k.a., a Ts and Ps reading) from me (professional astrologer Paul Habit, in Raleigh, NC)

Playfulness versus Intensity Today: What to Do

PLAYFULNESS VERSUS INTENSITY: DETAILS AT 11!  ;-)

After working hard yesterday, I'm all about havin' FUN TODAY (d*** it!)... even tho the transiting Moon's stalking through intense Scorpio and my 6th house (responsibilities) for a good while still.

(Hey, hedonistic transiting Venus in playful Leo is in my soulful 4th house, squaring off with La Lune for the next 4 hours, so hey, it could happen, right? ;-)

And how about YOU?  What's YOUR story... and are you STICKIN' TO IT?  ;-)

APPLYING THIS CURRENT ASTROLOGICAL "WEATHER" TO *YOU* AND *YOUR* LIFE

Which house of YOUR birth chart contains 12 degrees (mid-) Leo?

That's where Venus beguiles you, longing to rest & relax, create, relate currently (and lasting for a total of some number of weeks)... Which house contains 14 degrees (mid-) Scorpio? '

That's where the Moon pulls you emotionally toward depth, transformation, solitude currently (and lasting for a total of something like 2 to 4 days or so, depending...).

I'd suggest doing something to satisfy both inclinations, though giving priority to satisfying Venus (if push comes to shove, at least) for the next 4 hours or so (i.e., until transiting Moon reaches 14 degrees or mid-Leo) and that clashing square (or right-angle) aspect starts separating.

WHERE TO FIND MY "CHEAT SHEETS" RE THE PLANETS, SIGNS, AND HOUSES

Don't remember which house symbolizes what in your chart? Drop by http://proudphoenix.com/houses.html The planets? http://proudphoenix.com/signs.html And your "natal" planets (i.e., those planets that you each have in specific signs and houses of your birth chart ... as well as the planets, in other senses, too)? http://proudphoenix.com/planets.html

Be a Happy Camper, NOT a Glum Chum

Do you want to be a glum chum... or a happy camper?

A little astrology can help you be a happy camper, whether you find yourself feeling down or you'd just like to feel even bettuh! :-)

Learn more at http://proudphoenix.com/newsletter3.html

You probably know your zodiac sign (also known as your "Sun sign")... but did you know that you also have a "Moon sign" ... and it may very well be some sign other than your zodiac sign?

For example, if you're Aries, then your Moon sign may be Aries, but it may also be any one of the other 11 zodiac signs

Your Moon sign represents your "heart and soul," and feeding it the proper diet of what that particular sign needs to thrive makes all the difference between whether you're a glum chum or a happy camper.

To find out your birth sign:

  1. Go to astro.com
  2. Enter your birth place, date and (as best you know it) your time of birth.
  3. View/print a free copy of your personalized birth chart.
  4. Look at the list toward the top left-hand corner on that page to know what your Moon sign is. (Need help with this? Just ask me!).
Once you know your birth sign:

  1. Go to http://proudphoenix.com/newsletter3.html
  2. Find your Moon sign in the list (toward the bottom of that page).
  3. Read my quick tips for how to feed your heart and soul what nourishes it.

How to Know When to Strike

How to Know When to Strike

As the old saying goes, strike while the iron is hot. But it's not always obvious when the iron is hot. That’s where astrology can come in handy. By keeping track of which particular "astrological weather patterns" will be part of your personal forecast, and when they will each be relevant, an astrologer can tell you when the iron will be hot, or cold, or lukewarm for you.

Give Great Gifts Without Busting the Bank

Give Great Gifts in Tight Economic Times

So you’re invited to a birthday party for a friend, you have no money, and you’d like to give her something that she'll really like. What do you do? Even in tight economic times, you can give great gives to loved ones without busting the bank. Make it happen using a little astrology, a bit of creativity, and some standard frugal living tips.

Read all about it in the October 1st edition of Transformative Times (my free monthly astrology newsletter).

Relating Pluto's Current Change of Direction to Your Life

Pluto's Latest U-Turn

Pluto, the planet of Major Overhaul, Deep Transformation, and (potentially, at least) Deep Healing, changes direction tomorrow (Eastern Time).

After a number of months of appearing to move backward (that is, "being retrograde"), Pluto "stations" (stops) at 6 degrees 57 minutes Capricorn tomorrow ... and then "turns direct" (starts moving forward again).

How Significant is Such a U-Turn?

Such outer (read: slow-moving) planets spend much of their time retrograde, and they change direction (turning either direct or retrograde) every so-many months.

Therefore, generally speaking, I wouldn't make too much of a station such as tomorrow's happening.

Now, having said that, I do think that in some instances, such stations can quite significant.

In My Case: Relating Pluto's Current Change to My Life

For me (personally, again), Pluto does not make any "major" aspects (i.e., no conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, or oppositions) now, while it slows down, stops, and changes direction).

Even so, I do find myself currently thinking about matters such as grief and healing.

(Pluto is the planet of grief and healing, of death and rebirth in any and all senses of those words. For me, Pluto is currently transiting through the 8th house of my birth chart, for some 10 or 20 years, and the 8th house is the house of grief and healing, et al.)

I found out today that someone close to a friend of mine died suddenly, unexpectedly, at a young age yesterday. Texting with that friend brought up, for me, my own experience over the past almost-two-years of grieving and healing after someone close to me died suddenly, unexpectedly, at a relatively young age.

As I told my friend, I dare say that going through that experience helped me have an emotional--not just an intellectual--appreciation for what others might go through, when they experience such deaths.

And How Do You Relate This Change to Your Life?

I'm curious what your experience is now (today, in recent days....), in connection with this latest change of direction for Pluto.

For example, is Pluto triggering anything in particular in your birth chart?

If so, what and by which type of aspect?

Whether Pluto's triggering anything or not, through which house of your chart is Pluto currently transiting?

And thinking about all of that, what (if anything) do you relate to it ... in terms of what you're feeling / doing / experiencing in your life now?
