Maybe you’ve already heard...
... about
how the sky is scheduled to fall during the next few years. ;-)
OK, that’s
not really the case...
... but
you certainly might think so ...
... if
you've read enough of what’s out there on the web and all.
Now, Don't
Get Me Wrong Here...
However...
So that's what I'm going to focus on here.
Each planet in your birth chart symbolizes some part of you.
When it comes to Pluto and Uranus forming a square, it’s a relatively rare event. The last time that these two did this was in the 1930s; and once they form an exact square for the seventh and final time, this time around (in 2015), they won’t do that again until … 2073.
2073!

From about 2008 till 2024, Pluto is creeping through Capricorn; and from
2010 till 2019, Uranus is surging through Aries.
- The “Pluto voice in your head” could try to
block another part of you (“Uranus”) from changing the game plan or
“stirring things up.” That second part of you could refuse to follow
Pluto’s lead and challenge Pluto’s inclination to limit what others do.
- Uranus could push for action, while Pluto could
push for preparation and planning, caution and sensibleness.
- Uranus could try to fit more into what he’s
doing, and Pluto could say “You’re full of it if you think you can pull
all of that off at once.”
- They could disagree about what it means to
“truly live.”
All these messy scenarios that I just painted here are possibilities, but none of them is inevitable. I can’t emphasize that point enough.

"As Above, So Below."
I don’t doubt
that as a planet...
... and as
a bunch of societies ... and institutions ... and contentious segments of
population...
... we’re
due for some serious shakedowns and shakeups in the next few
years.
... I do tend
to agree with astrologer Bernie Ashman (who spoke at the Network of Triangle
Astrologers meeting here in Raleigh, NC, this past December).
At that
meeting, Bernie said that...
... while
2012-2015 could be a real bear (my words,
here) ...
... for those
people whose job it is to oversee countries or large institutions...
... it can also be
a very fruitful time for us ordinary citizens.
I’ll be talking about the angles that two transiting planets (Pluto and
Uranus) are forming to each other and to specific natal
planets in any given person’s birth chart—to different planets in different
people’s birth charts.
If you imagine that, associated with each of these parts of you, is some
particular sort of process that unfolds over time, then that process is
symbolized by the same planet as it moves through the heavens
(and around your birth chart) in real time.
In other words, it’s symbolized by that transiting planet.
For example, in your birth chart, Pluto represents that part of you that
wants to transform yourself and the world around you. It’s that part of you
that wants to “make your mark on the world,” to do something “that really
matters” in the grand scheme of things.
(This is where a list of keywords can come in handy, to keep track of
what each of the planets represent.)
Transiting Pluto symbolizes the process of either renewal or of death and rebirth.
Making your mark on the world suggests doing something that you’re passionate
about; and if you’re going to have passion, then eventually, you have to either
renew your commit me to something or uproot it and plant something new to which
you can commit yourself.
Natally, Uranus represents individuality; and transiting Uranus
symbolizes the process of individualization, liberation, and revolution
(fundamental change that happens relatively quickly).
Now, regarding transiting Uranus and
transiting Pluto…
Roughly speaking, during this decade, these two are approximately 90
degrees apart; and between 2012 and 2015, they form a square.
A square is a 90-degree angle. It symbolizes two elements that naturally
clash, that naturally work at cross purposes. With a square, the aim is to
establish workable compromises by which we provide each of the two elements
with some of what it wants.
The internal stress (if not also external stress) that’s associated with
a square never goes away, but the dynamic nature of it can help you develop and
do more you’re your potential than might otherwise be the case. Squares are
uncomfortable, and nothing motivates us to change quite like discomfort.
So Uranus and Pluto, up in the heavens in real time, are forming an
approximately 90-degree angle. This angle is closer to being exact during some
months than others, between now and 2015. And it’s exact on seven particular
dates:
The squares between Uranus and Pluto become increasingly powerful as each
of the dates of exactness approaches. It’s more powerful before becoming exact
than afterwards, though it could manifest any time before or after being exact.
In Capricorn, Pluto can be persevering, ambitious, and directorial.
In Aries, Uranus can be pioneering, assertive, and decisive in Aries.
Those all sound like good things, right?
And things can be good, with Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries.
They can also be trying. There are a variety of ways in which Pluto and
Uranus could lock horns.
So imagine that both Pluto and Uranus represent different “voices in your
head,” with one telling you to do one thing, and one telling you to do another.
For example:
Now, everything that I’ve just said about Pluto and Uranus voices in your
head” could also play out between you and another person, or an organization,
or a situation (with you playing either the Pluto or Uranus role, and
whatever’s external to you playing the Uranus role).
And that’s just Uranus and Pluto in relation to each other. Then there’s
the potentially combustible or grinding combination of the two.
When Uranus and Pluto square off, at worst we can each be cruel and
sociopathic, extreme and alienated.
On the other hand, at best, we can each effect change that is
fundamental, sweeping, positive, and powerful.
Over the coming days ... and weeks, ...and months ... and, yes, even
years...
... I'm going to talk about all the ins and outs, ups and downs, and
diagonals ;-) of...
... out of these next few years ....
... while transiting Uranus squares transiting Pluto.
... to catch my latest observations and suggestions ...
... as this little interplanetary drama continues to unfold ...
... in all of its rich--if sometimes rocky--glory...
